1. You and your Clients
On Yosch Media you work as an independent freelancer, whether you’re an individual or a registered business. When you take on a Project, the agreement is directly between you and your Client. We provide the platform and the secure payment system, but we’re not part of your contract.
That means you’re in charge of how you work:
- you decide when, where and how you work, using your own equipment;
- your Client sets the deliverables and deadlines, but can’t require fixed hours, an office or exclusivity;
- you’re free to work with other Clients at the same time, within your plan’s contract limit.
Good to know:
- Keep it on the platform. For 12 months after you first meet a Client here, all your freelance work with them must be agreed and paid through Yosch Media. You can share contact details to work together, but payments outside the platform are not allowed and aren’t protected.
- Your work stays yours until you’re paid. Once your payment is released, the rights to that work pass to your Client, unless your Project offer says otherwise.
- Reviews are honest. Clients can review you only after a completed, paid Project, and nobody can buy or trade reviews.
- Being hired as an employee. If a Client offers you a real job, that’s arranged outside the platform and is between you and them.
2. Project types
| Type | How you’re paid | When you get paid |
|---|---|---|
| Hourly Project | Your hourly rate × approved hours | After your Client approves your hours |
| Fixed-Fee Project | A fixed amount for a defined deliverable | When your Client approves your delivery |
| Skill Challenge | A prize set by the Client (at least $10) | If your entry is chosen as the winner |
Hourly Projects suit ongoing work, such as support, edits or maintenance.
Fixed-Fee Projects suit clear deliverables, such as a logo, a website page or an automation. Bigger jobs can be split into several Fixed-Fee Projects.
Skill Challenges let you compete with other Talents on a brief. The Client funds the prize upfront and picks a winner. If your entry doesn’t win, it stays 100% yours. The Client can’t use it. If the Client doesn’t choose a winner within 30 days of publishing the challenge, the prize is split equally between everyone who submitted an entry, including you. Your entry still stays yours.
3. Certified Freelancer or Apprentice?
Certified Freelancer listings are where experienced Talents offer fully professional services. To keep pay fair, every Project here starts at $10 per hour or $150 per project.
Apprentice Projects are smaller paid assignments for Talents building experience. They’re real, paid freelance work (at least $5 funded per Project), not unpaid trials or internships.
The 3-month Freelance Apprenticeship is a structured track: a series of Apprentice Projects with one Client over three months. There’s no minimum to start one, but each Project is paid through the Security Hold as you complete the agreed deliverables. To count toward your certificate, your Apprenticeship needs to reach $700 in approved payments in total. You still keep full freelance freedom, with no fixed hours and only deadlines.
| Certified Freelancer | Apprentice Project | 3-month Apprenticeship | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best for | Experienced freelancers | Building experience | A structured learning path |
| Minimum pay | $10/hour or $150 per project | $5 per Project | $700 in total to count toward certification |

4. Getting certified
Turn your experience into a platform certification, such as Certified AI Automation Specialist:
- Earn at least $700 in approved paid work, either by completing a 3-month Freelance Apprenticeship or by completing at least 9 Apprentice Projects.
- Pass our assessment.
- Teach a live capstone session: plan and present a free webinar about your course subject on Yosch Media, and welcome at least 30 real participants.
Only work paid through the platform counts toward certification. Your certificate is issued by Yosch Media. It proves what you’ve achieved on our platform. It doesn’t count as a Client recommendation, and it can’t promise you more projects in the future.
5. Getting paid
- Your Client funds the work first. Before you start, the payment is placed in our Security Hold, so you know the money is there.
- You deliver.
- The payment is released to you when your Client approves your work or hours.
- You receive your payout after a short safety waiting period.
| Payment | Waiting period before payout |
|---|---|
| $150 or less, from a trusted card | 3 days + 2 business days |
| All other payments | 14 days + 2 business days |
Before your first payout, complete Stripe’s identity and tax checks in your account. Payouts are paused until this is done.
6. Fees and taxes
- 0% commission. We take nothing from your earnings on Projects, webinars or tutoring.
- Payment fees. Card processing, currency conversion and payout fees charged by Stripe or Airwallex are passed on at cost, with no markup. They’re deducted from your payout.
- Your taxes. As an independent freelancer, you’re responsible for your own income tax, VAT/GST and social contributions. Where the law requires, we report earnings to tax authorities.
- Limits. Each payment is between $5 and $10,000. Your plan may set lower limits on your rates and Project sizes.
7. When a Project ends or something goes wrong
| What happens | Result |
|---|---|
| Your Client ends the contract after completion | All payments have already been released to you |
| You can’t finish the work | Agree a mutual cancellation or open a dispute. Funds for undelivered work may go back to the Client |
| You both agree to cancel | The funds are split as you agree |
| You and your Client disagree | Open a dispute. We’ll try to help, and if needed it can go to independent online arbitration |
Tip: keep all your communication and files on the platform. It’s your best evidence if a dispute ever happens.
8. Webinars and tutoring
You can also earn by hosting webinars and tutoring sessions, within your plan’s limits:
| What happens | Refund to the participant |
|---|---|
| You don’t attend or you cancel | Full refund |
| Participant cancels 24 hours or more before the start | Full refund |
| Participant cancels later, or doesn’t show up | You decide |
9. Leaving reviews
After a paid Project is completed, you can review the Talent. Tell other Clients what working with this Talent was really like, in your own words. Reviews can’t be bought, swapped or used as a bargaining tool, and we may remove any that break our rules. We don’t remove reviews simply for being negative.
Need a hand? Our team is happy to help. Send us a message, or see the full rules in our Terms of Use.
